2011 School Year Begins!

So this summer has flown by and of douse before we knew it, the school year has begun!
I was so glad that I planned early this year and got all of the much needed supplies.
So, Monday morning, Ashley & Emma began the 2nd grade! We started a new curriculum which is pace form and they have been doing really well so far this week. Mainly this week we were trying to get them back into the swing of sitting down and being able to concentrate and focus on their work. It hasn't been to bad, but they are definitely fidgety.
Mikey's has not started his schooling yet, he will begin Monday. He is excited about starting and well, in his words 'get it over with'. He will be using the same curriculum as last year, Switched on Schoolhouse, which if you aren't farmilar with a computer based curriculum. He will be enrolled in the 4th grade!
I can really not believe how time has just flown by. One minute they are crawling on the ground and now they are making decisions, friends, and working on being little adults.
I look forward to this school year and cannot wait for the fun things they will learn!

Walgreens 1/9/11

So, I must say that Rite Aid is really growing on me. They are trying to compete with CVS's ECB's and Walgreens' RR. However, right now, Rite Aid is awesome! They offer +Up Rewards which are the same as the other stores do, however, Rite Aid doesn't have limits. So if they give you $1 +Up Reward off of 1 item and you purchase 3 of those items, they give you 3 $1 +Up Rewards! Brillant. But Rite Aid doesn't stop there. They also offer SCR's which are single check rebates. You go online and register your reward card and every month the will send out a check for whatever you have purchased in the program. Rite Aid also has a program called Video Values, where you can get store coupons off of products or off of entire purchase for simply watching short videos online.

So this is what I did this week:
1st Trip
Get $2 +Up Reward WYB 2

Secret Flawless Deoderant $4.00 x 6 = $24.00
used 2: B2G1 Free from RP
used 1: $4/$20 from Video Values
Paid OOP $13.44 (including tax) + got $6 +Up Rewards

2nd Trip
B1G1 for a $1 (this is not the advertised deal, but it rang up this way)
Tylenol Precise Pain Cream 2.5 oz $5.00 x 1 = $5.00
Tylenol Precise Pain Cream 2.5 oz $1.00 x 1 = $1.00
used 1: $6/2 Tylenol Precise from SS
FREE!! + got $6 +Up Rewards!

3rd Trip
B1G1 Free + Get $1+Up Reward for each product Bought

Kellogg Special K $4.79 x 6 = $28.74
used 1: B1G1 Free from online
used 2: $1/2 Special K
used 2: $3 +Up Rewards

OOP: $1.58 + received 6 $1 +Up Rewards!

That is an overall savings of 77.2% on all three trips, averaging $1.25 for each item!

CVS 1/9/11

So my 1st Deal of the new year!

1st Trip:

Spend $20 on selected products, get $10 ECB's

Starbucks Frappucino 4pk $4.99 x 4 = $19.96
used 2: $1/1 coupons from Dec SS
used 2: $1/1 coupons from online

Sobe/Vitamin Water $1 x 1 = $1.00

Used $10 of remaining ECB's from previous week

So that calculates to $2.26 for each 4pk or $.57 for each Frap!!!!! You spend $1.50 and up.

2nd Trip

Spend $25 on Selected Products, get $10 ECB's

Airwick Freshmatic Kit $6.00 x 1 = $6.00
used 1: $4/1 coupon from Dec SS

Airwick Freshmatic Refill $5.00 x 2 = $10.00
used 1: B1G1 free coupon from Dec SS

Finish Tab 20ct $3.00 x 3 = $9.00
used 1: $2.25/1 coupon from RP
used 2: $1/1 coupon from RP

Post-It 50ct $.99 x 2 = $1.98

M&M Dark $.66 x 1 = $.66 (get $.89 ECB's)

Trident 18ct $1.29 x 1 = $1.29

**used $15.50 worth of ECB's from previous trips

So this calculates out to
$.04 for the freshmatic kit
$.03 for each refill
$.02 for each finish tab
$.01 for each Post-It
$free M&M's
$.01 for Trident Gum

Easter 2010 Kid Pics

The Lord definitley blessed us on the Resurrection Sunday! He is risen indeed! Mom, got the kids their Easter outfits, mine too! Thanks so much Mom, we all looked great!

Some Easter 2010 Prep Work

The preperation for this feast involves 7+ people, 1 person's recipes (Mommom's)
and a Month of preperation.
So Here is the famous secret filling! Kidding its no secret, just really really good! I was the filling mixer here. 6lbs of Ricotta, 6 eggs, salt pepper and parsley! It's that easy.

So while I was mixing the filling, Mom was busy preparing the dough. We do it old-school without a bowl. It definitley takes longer, but its the way Mommom did it, and that's how we like it. Below you see her kneading the dough. There was actually so much that we had to divide it into two mounds so I could help to get it all done!

So, once the kneading was done, the rolling began!

We go from #1 all the way to #6.

This gets the pasta to the perfect thickness to hold the filling w/out breaking.

Yup, that's me again.

Once the pasta was rolled, we had to fill them.
Mom did a great job!
You fill then cut using the Italian crinkle cutter knife, which makes the edges look so very pretty.
Here we have Mommom!
Now this is important because this is her recipe!
She has to count them all and lets us know when we have enough.
The total count..........

167!

So that was the process for the Ravioli. That doesn't include the Meatballs, Sausage, Sauce, Ricotta Pie, Rice Pie (3 each), salad, Homemade spaghettis, and Cakes.
